I read this article in the London Metro newspaper
“iPhone panic alarm app launched”
http://bit.ly/digpXMIt was released by Legal and General who believes it will be useful for woman walking alone at night or during the day and who might feel unsafe in a certain area. A year ago or so me and my sister (over a Pizza in a London restaurant) investigated a similar app but decided against it at the time since the ios of the iPhone didn’t allow apps to run in the background.

Currently it seems that you will need to run the app and press the panic button. My advice would be for them to make sure the app can run in the background and can set off an alarm and contact a loved one if a impact event on the gyroscope has been detected… Or for it to start up and wait only a minute or so before automatically calling a loved one or the police for help. Mhmm, maybe I should restart the thinking about that app…Visit iPhone Tutorials
