Bugs in new software is almost a given nowadays, as software complexity has increased and the demands of us users have skyrocketed, so Apple will most likely release a patch in the coming weeks. In the meantime there are some things you can do to maximise your battery life on iOS5
1) Disable unnecessary email accounts
At one point I had 7 email accounts “active” on my phone, which obviously drains the battery having to check mail
Under settings-> mail,contacts and Calendars
Go to the correct email and just tap the switch to turn it off. When you need access to the infrequently used account again you can easily enable it. 2) disable unused Twitter accounts. I also had a couple of twitter accounts which is best used on a computer, and only your main (personal) twitter account needs to be active3) enable Airplane mode when using underground trains, or when travelling and not expecting phone calls
Else your antenna will continuously search for a connection, and the worse reception you have, the harder the antennae needs to send signals. I’ve travelled for a couple of days without having to charge my iPhone 4 while abroad and still using the camera

However, a developer has done some investigation into iOS 5 and has found some device identifiers which hint at some upcoming iOS devices. Apple normally gives it’s hardware some identifier which they use internally. In particular, the identifiers given here, are “iPad3,1” and “iPad3,2”. These identifiers hint at what might be two versions of the iPad 3. It also has the identifiers ”iPhone4,1” and “iPhone4,2”. My thinking is these identifiers point to two versions of either the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4S.
