FaceTime is reportedly heading to the iPod touch and iPad, claims Boy Genius Report. BGR’s “reliable Apple connection” explained to them just how the FaceTime feature would work on the iPod touch and iPad, seeing as the two devices lack phone numbers.
The devices will be registered to the user’s Apple ID, allowing the devices to utilize the FaceTime calling feature using e-mail addressed instead of phone numbers. Apple will also apparently offer push notifications for these devices to notify users of incoming calls with the FaceTime frameworks found in the new iOS 4.1 beta build.
It’s not clear whether or not Apple will modify the iPhone’s method of FaceTime calling, but you can check out shots of the FaceTime settings and activation pages after the break.
It would be interesting to see hoe Apple with accomplish this and I presume it will only be one way since the iPad doesn’t have a camera…we told you it should have had one
I have done quite a few face time calls now and find it very engaging,; much more than a skype video call since you can show things easier and the interaction is natural.
