There are always rumors about Apple technology but it sounds like we might just get Siri on the iPad and very soon. If you’re an iphone 4S user you might have wondered why Siri isn’t part of the iPad and the reasoning could never be explained.
Luckily it looks like Siri is on it’s way and it won’t be a cut down version either.
“According to a 9 to 5 Mac report, Siri will make the move from iPhone to iPad, where it will be able to execute all commands except those relating to making calls. Siri for iPad is expected to take up a small portion of the screen, overlapping whatever …Zee News”

iOS 5 introduced by using it numerous additional features and enhancements for iPad customers, and one of the most curious included in this was a chance to split the device’s software keyboard in 2, permitting customers to make use of both thumbs to type, because they do on apple iphones or ipod device touches. But are you aware that this special keyboard also features unseen, hidden secrets that will help you out of trouble if you are accustomed to striking certain secrets with certain thumbs? WSJ: Apple testing 8-inch iPad
The invites haven’t even been sent but the crazy speculation by what Tim Prepare will take out on stage at next month’s purported announcement has started. The Wall Street Journalthinks Cupertino’s planning to make a more compact, 8-inch slate to partner its 9.7-inch flagship. Un named sources in the company’s providers say it’ll pack a screen having a resolution near to the 1024 x 768 display around the current model. This jibes using what we have learned about the apple ipad 3 carrying a Retina Display — unless of course the more compact unit is targeted at budget purchasers. The report claims test sections are now being created by AU Optronics and LG Display which this model may also operate on LTE. It’s most likely fair to indicate that Apple is known for creating prototypes in a multitude of dimensions which will never begin to see the light of day, so do not get your hopes up too early.
WSJ: Apple testing 8-inch iPad initially made an appearance on Engadget on Tue, 14 February 2012 04:56:00 EDT.

Apple currently has 4 iOS devices available. These are the iPhone, the iPod Touch, the iPad and the Apple TV. All of these devices can be hacked by a method known as jailbreaking.
There are two types of jailbreaking, tethered jailbreaking and untethered jailbreaking. Tethered jailbreaking and untethered jailbreaking. Essentially, tethered jailbreaking means that you have to connect your iOS device to your computer and jailbreak it every time you want to reboot your iOS device. On the other hand, untethered jailbreaking means that you can freely reboot without the need to connect to a computer.
But what is jailbreaking? Essentially, jailbreaking is a hack which gives the user full access to the filesystem. It also allows users to access applications, tweaks and customisations that you would never find on Apple’s official app store. Instead they are available in another app store known as Cydia. For example, you can turn on Wi-Fi, 3G and Location services without even leaving your current app. You can also unlock your iPhone, meaning that you can use it on almost any mobile phone network you want.
Now of course, there are some pros and cons to this. So just to scare off those who are not so sure about doing this, let me state the cons of jailbreaking your iOS devices.
Now yes, Jailbreaking is now legal as specified in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act(DMCA). However, if you do jailbreak then you may void your warranty. From what I know, if you restore your iOS device to the clean firmware, then you may be out of luck. This is because Apple’s people at their stores have many tests which can help them determine if you have jailbroken your device before hand.
The second of the many disadvantages there are of jailbreaking is that it can be used for piracy. There are people out there who have been able to crack the copy protection on the applications for all iOS devices. This way, applications that you have to pay for from Apple’s app store for iOS can be illegally obtained for free. You are also hurting the developers. They have spend a lot of time and money just to create applications that you can enjoy using. I encourage/highly recommend that you support the developers by always using Apple’s app store to get your applications.
You may also risk rendering you device unusable. If you perform the process incorrectly, you will have to plug your device in to your computer. You will then have to run iTunes in order to wipe the device clean and set up your phone from scratch.
By jailbreaking your iPhone, you can gain full access to the phone and delete files, which are important to the functionality of the phone. So remember, that with great power comes great responsibility.
Let’s move on to the good things that can come out of jailbreaking an iOS device. There are many different customisations that you can get. For example, you can customise the look and feel of your phone. You are able to change the colour of the keyboard, the icons on your home screen and change the slider on the lock screen.
You can also get features on your phone that allow you to do things that the iPhone should have had since iOS 1.0. Before iOS 4.0 came out, Cydia had applications that allowed the phone to be used as a Wi-Fi access point.
it provides Apple with ideas as to what to implement into a major release of iOS. For example, the idea of folders in iOS 4 came from categories which was available in Cydia since iOS 3.1.
All-in-all, jailbreaking your iOS device has an equal amount of pros and cons. If you are going to jailbreak, then please proceed with caution.

On Monday 6th June 2011, Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference(WWDC) will start. This is normally where apple unveils either some new software or new products. The highlight of the WWDC every year is the Keynote which some may consider as the show piece of the conference. Here is my preview of what I think we should expect to see at the keynote.
As we know, Steve jobs and his team of executives would be covering iOS5. This is the next major release of Apple’s operating system(OS) for their mobile devices. Now there are rumours that Apple are going to have some twitter integration in iOS5. There is already a twitter app for mac and IOS, making it somewhat pointless. I am sure that there are going to be some features that apple should have had in the iOS platform since iOS 1.1.4.
The second of the items to be covered for definite will be Mac OSX Lion (AKA OSX 10.7). We already know that it will have a screen for your apps that looks exactly like the home screen from iOS. This is called Launchpad. There is also resume which will allow you to shutdown your computer and pick up where you left off.
The third of the topics at the keynote will be Apple’s iCloud service. Not much is known about it.
The keynote for WWDC2011 will also be on 6th June 2011. I will have a roundup of the announcements right after the keynote. If I can, then come back here at 5.50PM(UK Time) on 6th June 2011 when I will have a live stream of the keynote available. Who knows, maybe Apple might be kind on us by doing their own live stream. They normally let people know at the last minute that they will do a live stream. However, we still don’t know if they will do it this year. Especially after their failure with one of their demos because of there being too many Wi-Fi hotspots, during WWDC last year. Either way, mark your calendars for 6th June 2011.

Time for another update on the iOS jailbreaking scene. It turns out that we are not far off from an untethered jailbreak. But let me first tell you what is the difference between a tethered jailbreak and an untethered jailbreak.
An untethered jailbreak means that you can reboot without connecting your iPhone to your computer.
Tethered jailbreaks on the other hand require you to connect your iPhone to a computer and run a tool such as iBooty.
An iPhone hacker who goes by the name ion1c has found an exploit in the latest iOS (4.3.1) which would allow an untethered jailbreak to be formulated. He has handed this exploit over to the iPhone dev team (the people behind the jailbreaking tools Redsn0w and Pwnage Tool). At the time of writing this, the iPhone dev team are in the middle of beta testing for this jailbreak and are now looking for the best way to implement it.
Hopefully, we should see this jailbreak released soon. Until then, here is my advice. Feel free to upgrade iOS 4.2.1. This will allow you to do an untethered jailbreak using greenpois0n. Whatever you do don’t upgrade past iOS 4.2.1.

Shun Yamashita | Mar 23, 2011 | http://3anime.com/?p=3306“>View CommentsAn iOS 4.3 untethered Jailbreak for iPad 2 and iPhone 4 might come out next week as JailbreakMe.com creator Comex has shared to jailbreak community. This could be a great chance for most of Apple iPad 2 and iPhone 4 users to finally get more freedom with their devices.
In light of the scheduled release, Apple also is planning to release iOS 4.3.1. The update will come with a fix to some of the vulnerabilities of iOS 4.3 including a jailbreak vulnerability.
Comex has confirmed that he is in process of releasing JailbreakMe 3.0 for iOS 4.3 iPad 2 by next weekend. JailbreakMe 3.0 is an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3 which was developed by Comex.
As of now, this will be the first jailbreak for the iPad 2. So how will this jailbreak be done? Comex disclosed that he has discovered a userland expoit to jailbreak the iOS 4.3 firmware on the iPad 2. He will try and develop a package of the whole jailbreak before releasing it to the public.
Update: We’ve heard that Comex will be delaying the release until Apple releases iOS 4.3.1. This is still unconfirmed but it would make sense because Apple might just include a fix for the jailbreak if the jb gets releases earlier than the iOS update.
Stay tuned for more updates!

Well, this seems very interesting. However, if you have iOS 4.2.1 or lower on your iPhone 4, then I suggest staying at 4.2.1 until I advise you otherwise. When jailbreaking your iOS device, please remember to make a backup of it using iTunes. I will have a tutorial on how to do that for both Windows and mac OSX soon. Please note that iPhone Tutorial VIdeos is not responsible for any problems caused by jailbreaking your iOS device. Until next time, this is Adiman423 on behalf of iPhone tutorial videos signing out.

So earlier on today, Apple released iOS 4.3 and it is available for download.
It will work on the following devices:
The features in this update are:
If you are ready to update, then plug your iOS device into your computer and open up iTunes. On the left-hand sidebar, click on your iOS device and you will see the main info window. From there click on update and the rest should hopefully take care of itself.
If you are on iOS 4.2.1 or lower and you are jailbroken, please don’t update until I advise you to do so. Until next time, this is Adiman423 on behalf of iPhone Tutorial Videos signing out.

On March 2nd 2011, Apple hosted an event where they unveiled the iPad 2 and iOS 4.3.
Apple has called their new iPad the iPad 2. It will sport an Apple A5 Dual Core CPU. It will have 2X faster CPU and 9X faster graphics. For the full specs, click here.
Finally, the iPad will be a white iPad and it will work on both the AT&T and Verizon. It will have a 10 hour battery life and over a month of standby. The pricing will be starting at $499 with the same configuration models. Starting out at $499 for 16GB and WiFi, and going up to $829 for 64GB and 3G. March 11th 2011 is when it will release in the USA, and it will release March 25th 2011.
There will also be a HDMI cable which will allow you to show the screen of the iPad. It will cost $40.
There will also be an interesting cover that apple will allow you to buy for the iPad 2.
After that, Apple talked about iOS 4.3. It will add home sharing to the iPad, better Javascript engine, AirPlay will be extended to support apps. After much hoopla, you will be able to use the mute switch as either a mute switch or a rotation lock.
For those on the iPhone 4, you will be able to use your iphone 4 as a personal hotspot.
Scott forstall came onto the stage today and demoed a feature on the new iPad 2 where you can manipulate a photo you take.
There will also be iMovie for the iPad. You will be able to edit your videos just as you would on the desktop. This app will cost $4.99 and will be available on March 11th 2011
There will also be Garageband for iPad. Put simply, it is looking really nice, you can create songs and plug your guitar into the iPad. The price for this awesomeness? $4.99 and it will hit the app store on March 11th 2011.
If you were unfortunate to miss event on the day, then I have left a video of the whole announcement which you will be able to view for yourself. If you are on the iPad or the iPhone, then you will be glad to know that this is a HTML5 video. This means you will be able watch the video without any problems.
In addition to this, Apple has now released iTunes version 10.2 for download. If you are on a jailbroken iOS device, then I can confirm that it is safe to update to 10.2.
On the whole, not an exciting announcement in my opinion. I would suggest to buy the iPad 2 only if you care about having facetime on the iPad and you want to have an iPad with a faster dual-core CPU. Otherwise, you are in the clear.

a twitter for wordpress plugin allows site optimisation.Today was iPad 2 Day and we’ve been running a poll asking readers if you’ll plop down the $500 to buy one. I have to confess, I wasn’t hugely moved by what was unveiled today and I don’t know if or when I’m going to feel like buying a second iPad. Apparently most of our readers feel otherwise. Here’s our summary of what was announced today.
Nearly 60% of almost 1200 poll respondents, from 63 countries, today said they expect to buy an iPad 2 – and the percentage is even higher (62%) in the United States. More than 20% of respondents said they were going to buy one and that it would be their second iPad purchased. That sounds like a successful launch day to me – but of course we have a pretty geeky audience! You all won’t have to wait long, either. The iPad 2 will be available on March 11th. We’ve got another poll for you below, though. Do you secretly wish an Android tablet would appear that could beat it?
Here’s a screenshot below of the results from today’s poll:
Many of us sit with this same delimma. We already have iPads but after seeing the presentation last night you just can’t help yourself and really start thinking about when and where you are going to buy yours.
It’s not surprising really. Apple could make a monthly subscription for $100 per month and just replace your gadgets with the latest gadget they produce and it would probably be a good deal.

Gameloft working on four Unreal Engine games
by Josh Helfferich (RSS feed) on Feb 28th 2011 at 7:00PM
We have some wicked awesome news on the iOS gaming front today — Gameloft, the developer of popular 3D mobile games such as N.O.V.A and Asphalt, has announced a partnership with Epic Games that will allow Gameloft to use Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 in four new titles, two of which are expected by the end of 2011.
Unreal Engine on Apple devices first became a talking point when Epic Games debuted their tech demo of the engine, titled Epic Citadel, at Apple’s iPod event last September. The game displayed graphics that far surpassed anything previously seen on iOS, raising eyebrows around the world. Epic later went on to release the full version of the game, which is now known as IGN’s iPhone Game of the Year for 2010 — Infinity Blade.
I, for one, am very excited about this announcement. Between this partnership and their entry into the Mac App Store, Gameloft has been showing some serious ambition. Let’s hope we see some great games on the Unreal Engine 3 later this year.
With the tegra2 chip for the google android platform proving to have some great graphical capabilities, I hope gameloft can use the unreal engine 3 SDK to its full potential and produce some games that play real well and have some amazing grapics

On 2nd March 2011, Apple will be hosting a Special media event at 10AM californnia time or 6PM for those of you in the UK
As the image I have left above shows, the event should be about the iPad and possibly the iPad 2
In a nutshell, here’s what to expect from the iPad 2:
*Thinner design
*Twin cameras for use with FaceTime video calling
*Faster processor
*Significantly faster graphics performance
*SD card slot for loading photos directly onto the device
*Three-axis gyroscope for gaming (as used in iPhone 4)
*Twice the RAM of the original model (the iPhone 4 already doubles the iPad’s current RAM)
*New multi-touch gestures for navigating iOS
*iOS4.3 pre-loaded on there (you may have to wait for an untethered jailbreak)
In addition to this, we may also see a sneek preview into iOS5
Hopefully, Apple will be streaming doing a live stream of the event, which is only available on iOS devices running iOS3 or higher. In the event of there being a live stream, I will make a post here to notify you.

UPDATE: 2 March 2010
The iPad2 launch is happening at the moment.

After a long wait, and some hard work from the chronic dev team. Greenpois0n RC5 has finally been released for windows. It’s an untethered jailbreak which now supports iOS 4.2.1, and you will be able use it with the following devices:
Now I have been getting reports of errors. Probably because there are a lot of people trying to download and jailbreak with greenpois0n RC5. Additionally, it is the second beta of greenpois0n so there are some bugs to be expected.
You can now go ahead and download greenpois0n RC5 for Windows and Mac by clicking here . However, iPhone Tutorial Videos cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your iOS device.
Once you have tried it out for yourself, please come back here and let us know if you had any problems or not.
note 1: An untethered jailbreak means that you don’t have to run greenpois0n if you wish to reboot your iOS device. If it was a tethered jailbreak, then you would have to run greenpois0n to reboot your device.
note 2: You will not need to have the IPSW file for iOS 4.2.1 for your device on your computer for this jailbreak to work.

Sound the klaxons. a few days ago , Rupert Murdoch’s company news corp had their press conference to launch their new iPad-only newspaper “The daily”. Since this was a collaboration with Apple, there were some of Apple’s members of staff at the event. However, a Reuters reporter saw what looks allegedly like an iPad 2 at the event, with what looks like a front-facing camera.
In other news, A source of mine who works closely with apple has told me that there maybe an apple event happening sometime next week. If this is true, my guess is that apple could be using the event to announce the iPad 2. The only way we can find out is wait a few days and see if any event invitations are sent out to the media. I can say right now that if you want to buy an iPad, then I strongly recommend that you hold fire for now because the release of a new iPad 2 is imminent.
