Apple investigating problems with iOS 4 on iPhone 3G
According to the Wall Street Journal, it seems that apple are already looking into problems with iOS4 on the iphone 3G. This has come after multiple posts on Apple’s support forums. After upgrading to iOS 4 on the iphone 3G, the most common complaint raised by iPhone 3G users is that the iPhone 3G has become slow. In addition to this some have also reported that the battery is drained very quickly, the phone gets "excessively hot" and that the phone is rendered almost unusable.
Now for those of you who have upgraded already to iOS4 on your iPhone 3G, if you are feeling brave enough, then you can try and downgrade. however, we cannot be held responsible for any problems you may have with your iPhone 3G doing this downgrade. You can find the tutorial on how to do the downgrade by clicking here. I should say that if you are doing this on a windows PC, then you may need to download Microsoft’s .NET framework version 4.0. In addition to this as shown in the tutorial you will also need either the 3.1.2 IPSW or 3.1.3 IPSW . You can get these by clicking on one of the links below.
Apple offers free iPhone 4 case
During Apple’s press conference today, Steve Jobs just announced that the company will issue a free case to every iphone 4 purchased through September 30 . If you’ve already purchased a bumper case for your iphone 4, you are entitled to a refund.
You can apply for the free case through Apple’s web site starting late next week. The company plans to source cases from third parties due to a shortage in bumper cases, so iPhone 4 customers will have a choice of a few different cases. If you are still not satisfied with the iPhone, you can return it for a full refund within 30 days of your purchase. Steve Jobs said plainly about the decision that “we want to make everyone happy, and if we can’t make you happy we’ll give you a full refund.”

What are common problems with the new iPhone?
I’m thinking about getting it but i need to know about some common problems? (iphone 3)
As a first generation product, there are probably still a lot of things that will be improved upon, either through software or firmware updates. As far as the other problems listed by other posters: The keyboard is not that hard if you trust the autocorrection. I’ll mistype about 50% of my words, but about 90% of the mistypes are fixed by autocorrection. You can’t do MMS (pictures from cell phone to cell phone), but you can email pictures directly to another cell phone. You can do IM, but you have to go to website to do it, common ones are BeeJive, Mundu, and Meebo. The biggest problem I have with the iphone is the lack of approved 3rd party apps. I’d like to have a password program, more games that can be loaded onto the iPhone, and such, but won’t be able to until the SDK is introduced in Feb 08
