The “How to” for your iPhone
non jailbreak iPhone Tutorials
If you have been searching the internet for good iPhone Tutorial Videos you would have definitely come across many video’s which are confusing and mostly trying to show you how to unlock or jailbreak your iPhone.
The main problem with these videos are that most of the time they are out of date and refer to a previous firmware software version of your iPhone, which means the tutorial will mostly be useless for you.
Advanced users of the iPhone still like those videos, but many people are just looking for decent information or tips on how to use the iPhone during your day to day life or Business, whether it is jailbroken or not.
I’ve compiled a group of videos that most will find useful, whether you are a brand new user or a seasoned pro. Read the rest of this entry »
Windows 7 on the iPad
Citrix Systems claims that it can help users run a virtual installation of Windows 7 on the Apple iPad, when the tablet device is released later this year.
Writing in a blog post on the company’s site, Chris Fleck, the company’s vice president of Community and Solutions Development, said those companies that use either of the company’s desktop virtualization platforms, XenDesktop or XenApp, will be able to use Windows 7 from the iPad.
“It turns out [that] the 9.7-inch display on the iPad, with a 1024×768[-pixel] screen resolution, works great for a full [virtual desktop infrastructure] XenDesktop,” Fleck wrote on the Citrix blog.
Fleck went on to say that any Windows application will “run unmodified and securely in the data center.” It will even allow for users to use multiple applications at once–a major sticking point with Apple’s iPad software.
You can run Windows remotely on your iPad once it comes out…

Creating content on the iPad: Keynote Editing in Action on the iPad
Keynote Editing in Action on the iPad
At Apple’s media event introducing the iPad (see Hands-on Impressions of the iPad, 29 January 2010), Glenn Fleishman and I wanted to know what the experience of creating a Keynote presentation would be like. Inspired by a blog post from Fraser Speirs (“iPad Fallacy #1: ‘It’s not for content creation’“), I created a short video of Glenn manipulating objects (resizing, repositioning, rotating) and activating the annotation controls (including a laser pointer) in Keynote’s presentation mode. (You can also click the video to view a high-definition version at YouTube.)
This video from Tidbits.com really shows how easy Creating content on the iPad will be – Can’t wait.

My reaction to Hitler Reacts To The iPad (VIDEO)
But what about all the rumors of how the iPad would revolutionize the industry? Such high expectations have let some people down. And one of those people is none other than Hitler. In this new entry into the series of Downfall parodies, he just found out that the iPad is not all that he dreamed it would be. And he’s pissed. All Hitler wanted to do was watch lolcats while laying on the couch.
WATCH:
Strange, I won’t have these issues with the iPad…
10 minutes after I have my iPad it will have:
1) Ability to Make phone calls… and VOIP (Skype to landlines, Fring etc) calling over 3g (SDK changed released 2days ago) – Yes it has a microphone
2) Flash support (via my Bookmarklet…and Flash Gordon) coming soon… not sure if I should release this as Flash licks … … seriously, get over it, Flash sucks, resource hog, overused where 3 lines of CSS3 could be used, and the cause of many desktop browser crashes.
3) Have access* to all the power of an OSX, Windows 7 or Linux PC (as a dumb terminal via Citrix or VNC) which could be useful for doing remote support from.
4) Multi-tasking – Actually all iPhones, iPods and iPad’s have this functionality built in (thats how you are able to listen to your tunes, while checking your email or playing a game.. using some programs you can enable this for all your apps. Under Cydia you can install ProSwitcher which gives you beautiful
5) Send SMS messages – albeit via myo2.co.uk –
6) Full Video out via VideoOutTuner
Perfect for the mobile Classroom, simply Brilliant
There are a few things which I would like to see in v2 of the iPad
1) Turn-able Camera attachment via USB so that:
a) my Augmented reality apps can work on it while the camera is facing away from me.
b) I can Skype Video chat/ Video to Twitter or Blog from the device (Video chat or create Podcasts on the go)
or
2) Bluetooth or USB connection to iPhone’s video Camera…
Only time will tell, but don’t underestimate this baby. It is already ruffled a lot of feathers

Apple iPad to ignite tablet computer market
According to some news articles more than 400 000 table Computers will ship to customers this year.
This is jot nearly as large a number as what the iPhone had. But this is because it is a completely different Market.
I think we will be surprised by the iPad when we get our hands on one.
Steve hinted that this device will be less personal than the iPhone and might be shared throughout a household. (This reminds me of Bill Gates’ dream to have one personal computer per house.)
Some of the iPad’s usages could be similar to the One little gem that came and went without too much notice called the o2 Joggler which allowed families to share a calendar and messages etc.

If the iPad can have similar functionality I can really see how this can be beneficial in a household.
With the amoun of applications already available before it’s even launched I cannot see anything other than a successful launch for the iPad.

Apple releases iPhone/iPod touch Software Update (version 3.1.3) – CNET
Aplenty released an update to the iPhone firmware 3.1.3 today which includes a few bug fixes in particular one that once in a while prevented 3rd party software from launching.
Previously the fix for this was to sync with iTunes or remove or install another application via the iPhone app store and then run update.
Hopefully these small buggfixes will recent it all together.

ShareAppScreen: Share & Discover iPhone Screen
ShareAppScreen is web service to share your iPhone home screen. You can organize your iPhone home screen in Dashboard Widget.
This is probably the best way I’ve seen to quickly move around your Apps on your iPhone screens.
iTunes 9 made organising your iphone screens easier, but this app goes one further. If you’ve spent more than 15 minutes re-arranging your apps, then this free Widget is definitely for you.
The Temporary inbox area allows you to group some apps together, then move to a screen where you want it, and put them all there.

Hitler reacts tot the iPad
The iPad was well well received by some, but others really didn’t like the lack of some hardware features:
Apple technology in Education – old ad
While surfing for videos about the future from the past, I found this little gem from Apple:
The video comes from a time in which very few were actually on the internet, hence the question, “What *would* you do?” The most recent YouTube comments paint a disheartening picture of what we have become:
With the Launch of the iPad there are many new opportunities to use this device in education.
Apple already is the best in digital content distribution, and with the release of the ebook s on the iPad and it’s video playback functionality imagine the learning experience students could have if they aren’t tied down to a classroom (almost sure it will support HTML5 which means no Flash will be required)
Prof Michael Welch from Kansas State University lectures in all things Digital Media to do with education and sociology and found this old Apple education Ad for us.

It looks like Apple have been planning this for quite some time.
